This model has a built-in volume plate antenna
as well as a fancy-looking main pitch antenna.
It will also generate an audio sine wave sound oscillation covering the
full audio spectrum range. The volume plate antenna gives the musician
hands-on opportunity to express what's unique in making interesting
sounds, eg. as found when playing with two hands:
one for pitch, the other for volume.
Only a little perseverance is required to realise the device's
potential as a useful addition to those collective tools that
make impressive & unique musical-type sounds. It will also plug
into sample unit, mixer desk or general HI-FI system.
An even more spectacular case has been
designed and colors can be customised to your requirements including
glitter effects which really stand out for use on Stage,or fluorescent
colors which glow under UV lighting. . . . . . . . . . . . . SPECIAL INTERNET

(1)Theremin 006 can be run from battery 9-Volts or from a mains
9-Volt Power Pack (2)To run from Battery. Use a 9-Volt radio-
Battery or 8.4-Volt rechargeable.Plug the battery adaptor which
comes with the Theremin into the small(3.5mm)metal socket at
the back of the theremin. Now connect the battery to the
adaptor. It is a good idea to hold the battery onto the adaptor
by using a rubber band to prevent it coming loose.Do not plug or
unplug the adaptor from the theremin with the battery connected,
always remove the battery first.
(3) To run the theremin from a 9-volt regulated mains adaptor.
Make sure that the mains adaptor is of the regulated kind,as
unregulated ones often give poor sound quality.
If the mains adaptor has a 'spider connector'with 4 plugs on it,
find the right one to fit the small metal(3.5mm)socket on the
back of the theremin.Otherwise fit a 3.5mm plug onto the adaptor
with positive connected to the outer sleeve, and plug this in.
Make sure the outer connection is positive.
Before plugging or unplugging the powerpack to the theremin,
make sure it is not connected to mains power.
(4)Connect the Theremin to your Sound System by a standard 1/4"(6mm)
jack plug with a screened audio lead.Adjust the volume control.
(5)Face the Theremin with two controls to the right of the Antenna
and one control to the left of the antenna.Turn each control up
about a quarter turn from fully anti-clockwise.
(6)The control to the far right is the 'trim' control.By turning
this you may get Theremin Sound, if not turn up the middle control
which is called the 'response control'.
(7)The control on the left is called the 'range control'.
By adjusting it carefully you should be able to hear a sound from
the speakers or headphones. When you hear this sound, adjust the trim
control to give a varying tone which responds to the hand waved
near the pitch antenna.
(8)The 'Volume Antenna' is hidden inside a bulge on the left of
the Theremin body.By bringing your left hand near this bulge the
volume will change.
(9)With your hand away from the volume antenna, adjust the range-
control so that when it is turned clockwise the sound ONLY JUST
disappears. Now by bringing your hand near the volume antenna
the sound should come louder(though it may become quiet again if
you bring your hand very close)You can also experiment with the
range-control and find a position where it reverses and becomes
louder with your hand away from it and quiet with your hand near.
You may also find a position where,by tapping the volume antenna
gently with your fingers you can play percussive sounds and bass-
lines.
(10)Adjust the trim control so that with your hand away from the
pitch antenna a low pitch is produced which rises in pitch as
you bring your right hand near to the pitch antenna. This may need
re-adjustment if there are temperature changes or if the battery
is either very new or is running down.Alkaline Batteries appear
to be the most stable, and rechargeable ones can also be good.
Temperature changes can be caused by draughts or by bright lights.
